“Minerva Parker, architect, 14 S. Broad Street, has plans prepared for a two-and-a-half story frame cottage, at Longport, NJ, for Miss Elizabeth Newport. Dimensions, 30x36 feet. Modern conveniences, hot air heating.” (May 28, 1890)

Not much is known (yet) about Elizabeth Newport, who was born to Quaker parents in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1829. She commissioned the house from Minerva in 1890; when she died in 1897, she bequeathed the house to her two nieces, Elizabeth N. Travilla and Mary Travilla.
